SWOT Analysis: Commercial Illustration: Digital Painting Attempt 2

Following my original attempt at creating a digital painting I decided to retry my Tom Haugomat inspired design using a more traditionally painted style. I am much happier with how this experiment turned out in comparison to my original attempt. I maintained the use of blocked colours for areas such as the animals and characters, using the burn and dodge tools to add detailing.

I feel like although it is more difficult to identify the direct inspiration of Haugomat in this design, it is much more tailored to my own style which I feel is much more effective as it leads to no copyrighting issues.

I really like the combination of clean line work for the foreground elements combined with the more rustic and natural appearance of the trees in the background, this contrast really helps make the foreground elements pop.

I really like how this design turned out but perhaps I should explore this technique using a different layout and composition considering a lot of my experiments have been based around this structure. Regardless I am very happy with the lighting I have managed to emulate within this piece, I feel it looks very realistic and helps enhance the overall aesthetics of my design.
