SMART Target Response: Pictoplasma 2Cute2Fail VS New Cute Creations

Considering I have been experimenting with cute designs I wanted to return to my Pictoplasma #2Cute2Fail submissions to see just how far I have come so far. For my recreation of the cute ghost, I decided to focus on the sub character hidden in it's stomach, the candy corn.

I think there are clear improvements which are evident between my two creations, although I like the interesting border shape of the original the style of my candy corn suits the rest of my cute news feed which is why I did not replicate the background.

I feel my second design has a lot more depth and personality, the highlights in the eyes and shine on the candy really help to create a much more fluid and inviting design than my original ghost. I feel the level of contrast and saturation is also much better in my second attempt as certain elements become lost in the original, which decreases the overall functionality of the illustration as if it is difficult to see people will want to spend less time looking at it.

I may create the ghost as well as I would like to see just how different the two designs are, however I do not think I will create it as a liquid design as I am not certain I like this concept anymore.
