Research and Analysis: Personal Project - Watermelon

Following on with my theme of food I decided to freshen things up with some watermelon considering we are supposed to be entering summer soon. I was inspired by the artist @tea.tiint as I really loved the fresh summer vibe her design created, it is a different style to what I have been focusing on recently considering the fruit hasn't been made into a character however I really like thier colour palette choices and concept.

I found the creation of this design slightly challenging as I was trying to merge the use of sharp and rounded edges into one asset, but it was a good learning curve for me which will hopefully enable me to work on more challenging designs in the future.

I reused the shadowing style from my stuffed peppers creation and I am very happy with how it turned out, I feel the use of a curved shadow looks a lot more appealing especially considering this is a food item. I feel it helps create a more fluid visual as it contrasts with the harsh edges.
