Research and Analysis: Independent Project - Munchy May, Day 2
I am so proud that I have managed to create a brand new illustration in under a day in order to continue my streak of participation in the Munchy May event! Being able to sit down and actually accomplish making an illustration 2 days in a row feels like a major milestone for me at the moment and I am so happy with my progress thus far.
By participating in this event I am not only developing my digital skills further but I am also taking the time to remind myself of the little things I am grateful for at the moment, which has been greatly beneficial to maintaining a positive and healthy mental state during such stressful times in the world.
I found the creation of this design took me a lot less time than my first Munchy May submission, and I feel this is because of all the research and practice I have been doing with cute illustrations at the moment.
Some of the artists which I have been looking at recently are @beckycas_ and @lucianodiazd. I found the work of @lucianodiazd particularly inspiring as his work primarily consists of block colour components alongside block black shadowing and intense highlights. Although I wanted to take a much softer inspired look when it came to my shadows I feel that using his work as reference was extremely helpful in helping me decide where the most impactful highlight areas would be.
Overall I am really pleased with how my creation came out and I feel each day my skills of being able to create cute illustrations keeps growing.
