Research and Analysis: Association of Illustrators
Originally the purpose of these designs was to include them in my participation of the Munchy May Instagram event however, I am holding off posting them all onto my account immediately to ensure I can have a new post each day as well as entering the event.
The reason for my focus around the use of social media with my artwork lately is following an event I was present at earlier in the year at university by the Association of Illustrators, they brought to my attention the possibilities and opportunities which open up for an artist when they have an online presence. I took all of their knowledge into account but I did not feel my artwork at the time was consistent enough or good enough to warrant such attention. Due to this I have explored a variety of different styles and areas using both traditional and digital means in order to locate a style which I felt truly passionate about enough to pursue further.
Although with my level currently, the prospects of gaining work from my online social media platforms is slim however by putting it out there I have created the opportunity and opened up the possibility. I am really enjoying the style I have chosen and feel motivated to continue working everyday which I felt was previously lacking in my old account of @parataxic.productions and I feel this is because I had never settled on a style.
Now I have the means to grow my account solely based around my cute character illustrations as well as being able to post any work I complete that doesn't fit into this category into my old account. This will enable me to compare my growth and development directly and enable me to have an outlet which I am passionate to continue and develop once I return to University in September.
