Welcome Back! Processes and Practices Module One
This post identifies the return to my University blog which was worked on through my entire Level 4 studying Ba Hons Illustration. I will be continuing this blog throughout Level 5 to document my progress and module practice in order to enable me to reflect and respond more personally to my progress and how I intend to improve my management and processes throughout each module.
The first module we were provided was the 'Processes and Practices' which I fell in love with, I really enjoyed being able to explore such a vast variety of mediums and techniques which I felt really helped me develop a cohesive collection of prints for my final submission.
I tried hard to incorporate a lot more relevant research during this module making sure to take clear stylistic responses within my own work which I felt I documented effectively, however upon my feedback I was informed I could have improved upon this so I have requested feedback in order to support this growth to ensure I continue to develop in the right way.
Unlike my original sketchbook's in Level 4 I forced myself to work on the development of this years sketchbook as an actual art book which successfully managed to journal my development choices. I did this by ensuring the art book was a lot more responsive and incorporated many more drawings alongside individual analysis, to ensure I documented everything sufficiently. Unlike my earlier work where I seemed to become too focused upon the use of digital formatting, whereas this book managed to balance the use of digital and traditional formats a lot better which I am pleased with and intend to continue in future.
It was difficult to achieve many things considering I am having to work remotely due to the current pandemic, however I feel I really pushed myself to attempt as much as possible in as many varying practices as I could in order to substitute for this. I am still waiting to see my final Risograph and Relief prints as they were completed for me in class by my lecturer once I sent across my files. However, I am excited to see how they turned out.
I really enjoyed this process and feel I managed to keep my head a lot better although I seem to be struggling with that aspect once again. I think because this module was set during the summer holidays I had obviously a lot more time to work out where I wanted to go with it and how I would present my findings whereas my new module is under much higher time constraints which I am feeling overwhelmed by. Regardless I will keep going as best I can to ensure I give it my best and hopefully manage to complete the upcoming modules to the same level of detail as my first.
