This subject matter is controversial and is meant in no way to offend anyone. I HAVE NOT made this post because I am at risk, but rather to raise awareness and attention through striking imagery. Please take the time to read the description below to find out more.

During this stressful time of the pandemic of Covid-19 quarantine has been in place for some time now and it is having detrimental effects on many people's mental health. During this unusual and completely unique event it is easy to slip into negative habits and for some those have clear physical repercussions.

I wanted to use my artwork during this time to represent the thoughts many may be having but struggling to articulate, I wanted my drawings to be shocking and cause an emotional response in the viewer that would hopefully transcend into self care for both themselves and those around them.

I feel that by seeing such bold artwork, many viewer's will hopefully take a moment to think about how all these changes are effecting both themselves and those around them and guide them into creating better choices by helping them identify, distract and avoid.

Often mental health is something which is easily looked over, but during these trying times it is likely the element which will suffer the most through a person's day to day life as they come to terms with all of the changes happening around them, fears of illness and financial struggles. These are often the struggles which people try their best to bury away and pretend aren't happening however, what happens when there is nothing else to think about?

I used these drawings as a way to help cope with my own struggles I am facing at the moment as well as hopefully calling those around us to be more compassionate and understanding during such trying times, as we never truly know what another person is dealing with, but at least for the time being we all have something which helps us see a bit closer into each others lives. I want to make the world strong again in the biggest way I know how. My artwork, and although I often struggle to pick up a pen and paper over fear of failure and disaster, I have felt very passionate about these recent drawings and they have helped improve my confidence. It may not directly link to the current status of our country but I hope it helps even one person feel heard and validated.

I have created these over the past week and feel they really achieve something I have not yet achieved through my artwork, I am looking to continue this series and delve deeper into the study of mental health and different strategies to build it's awareness.

Self harm should never be used as a coping mechanism as it is dangerous and destructive, however the reality is that it does happen. I want all of you survivors to know that it is not the answer and you are not alone but you are heard and you are truly valued. We can all do our piece to spread love and compassion and help one another through such a difficult time.

Our scars are not our end, just our story.

Thank you for reading this post.
